Origin Story
Avay began in 2021 with a small team of 4 engineers working on developing 3D printers. The idea of bioprinting tissue models was intriguing enough to design a prototype, a retrofitted 3D printer for hydrogels. This began the journey towards improving the product for including customizations that enable research.
What We Do Today
HARDWARE
We design and manufacture the 3D printers and liquid handling systems
SOFTWARE
We write our own software to convert 3D CAD models into machine instructions
BIOMATERIALS
We test various material sources develop the formula by to be able to help cells grow into tissue
CONSULTING
We provide guidance bioprinting various scaffolds, and engage in material formulations for industry
